52 weeks of Organizing - Task # 3 Desk Drawers

Still running behind in this challenge and even starting to run behind in posting on my blog. But task # 3 of Org Junkies Organizing Challenge for 2011 is done and it was the computer desk drawers. The top drawer was an absolute mess - years of cramming, ramming and pushing bits and pieces in and quickly closing the drawer.

The bottom filing drawer wasn't much better:

The outcome - much better and now we can definitely find things:

52 weeks of Organizing - Task # 2 Ollie's bedroom

Still running behind in this challenge and even starting to run behind in posting on my blog. But task # 2 of Org Junkies Organizing Challenge for 2011 has been completed and it all took place in the boy's bedroom.

Oliver's bedroom is another task on my list as since getting his queen size bed for his birthday it has really annoyed me how messy his bedroom has become and how he did have a lack of room for a growing boy.

This is how it started:

An hour later and we had this:

52 Weeks of Organizing - Task # 1

Okay so I am behind but pleased to say I have completed task # 1 of Org Junkies Organizing Challenge for 2011. I do have a list of 52 things to achieve this year and will tackle these in no particular order but the first thing I really wanted to do was to sort out my kitchen cupboards. With Noel recently losing his job and us instantly going down to one income I needed to be more organised when it came to shopping, overspending and buying multiple items purely because I didn't realise I already had a jar/packet in the cupboard.

So this is what they looked like before:

And two full garbage bags of out of date foods, empty packets (yes there was empty packets in there also!) and some foods that would never be used this is what they look like now:

Besides having cleaner, healthier and organized kitchen cupboards I also now have a list of what is in there, what has used by dates etc. With this in mind my menu planning should not only be easier but cross fingers it will be cheaper!

52 Weeks Of Organizing

When I was posting my Menu Plan Monday (I was so happy to restart menu planning since returning to work after the holidays) and I came across Org Junkies Organizing Challenge for 2011 and as one of my New Years Resolutions was to de-clutter my house for real this time I can't wait to get started on that challenge. As one would say it was perfect timing.

Now to decide on tasks which I have the ability to complete each week and ensure that these tasks will make a huge difference to our home.

And to ensure we are organised Laura asked the following questions:

1. Do you have your list written?

Yes I do - the tasks are very simple but are really in need of being done.

2. What is the first thing on it that you hope to accomplish this week?

Getting started and fitting it within my work and family time.

3. How are you going to make it happen?

It's just going to happen or I will go insane!

As I am officially a week behind I am going to have to double up the effort one week to get up to speed but that shouldn't be too hard at all especially if I am motivated, which I swear to God I am as I am sick to death of the clutter and mess.

Watch this space while I clean and declutter my house!
